Carl Pettersson began his work as the new CEO of Elo Mutual Pension Insurance Company on Thursday, 7 October 2021.
“Carl Pettersson has solid expertise in the pension insurance sector and a track record of successful leadership. He is assuming his new position at a time when Elo is strongly developing its activities to respond to the changing operational environment and to meet the expectations of our customers”, says Antti Aho, Chairman of the Board of Elo Mutual Pension Insurance.
“I have looked forward to this day when I can begin getting acquainted with my colleagues at Elo and gaining an insider’s perspective on Elo’s activities. Our society is affected by several major changes, such as the transformation of work and entrepreneurship, the ageing of the population and declining birth rates, as well as the long period of low interest rates. All these factors have an impact on the functioning of our earnings-related pension scheme. This calls for a careful analysis of our operational environment as well as continual development. Both Elo and other actors within the pension insurance sector are working hard to safeguard the livelihood of current and future pensioner generations. It is great to be able to pilot the teams of professionals at Elo”, Carl Pettersson states.
Pettersson has previously served as the CEO of Veritas Pension Insurance, from 2017 to spring 2021, and prior to that, at Aktia Bank Plc.
Hanna Hiidenpalo, who has acted as the interim CEO, has been appointed as the Deputy CEO as of 7 October 2021.
“I wish to extend my warmest thanks to Hanna Hiidenpalo for her service as interim CEO. Under her leadership, Elo’s operations have advanced steadily and the activities to develop the administration have progressed in good co-operation with the Board as well as the FSA and the authorised representative for Elo”, Antti Aho says.
