TyEL insurance in 2025

The TyEL contribution of contract employers is customer-specific and comprised of several different components.

• The 2025 TyEL basic contribution is 25.28 per cent of the payroll (25.12 per cent in 2024). The contribution includes the final instalment of the increased contribution paid by employers as a repayment of the temporary reduction granted during the COVID-19 pandemic. The effect of the repayment increase is 0.45 percentage points.
• The TyEL contribution is comprised of the basic contribution and a customer-specific expense loading fee. The final TyEL contribution amount may be reduced by a possible client bonus.
• If the payroll of your company exceeded 2,337,000 euro in 2023, you are considered a large-scale employer. In this case, the impact of the relevant contribution category and possible discount for premium loss will also be taken into account in the calculation of your TyEL contribution.

Employee’s share of the TyEL contribution in 2025:

• 7.15% for those under the age of 53
• 8.65% for those aged 53–62
• 7.15% for those aged 63 or older.
